Event Updates April 15, 2022

Hello Boot Campers! One month from right now we will all be exhausted from having such an amazingly good time skill building and having fun together. In this final planning and preparing home stretch we have a few updates to share with you.

The schedule now posted to the event website: www.oldschoolsurvivalbootcamp.com should be the final update. But, the schedule that will be a part of your welcome packet will have any last minute changes - if there are any. The schedule and venue map will be posted in several locations at the fairgrounds but printed copies will not be available. Please print or save the schedule to your phone or better yet - download the free Old School Survival Network app so you have all the details you need at your fingertips .... including the ability to communicate with Drill Instructor/Communications Director Jay McCann if you have an issue or emergency that requires our attention during the boot camp.

You can visit the Old School Survival Network blog to see event updates, videos, presenter and class details, and so much more!

Class Additions

Extra Foraging Class Sessions

There are now two sessions of the foraging class taught by Earth School's Richard Cleveland on both Friday and Saturday. We added more sessions of this class, in addition to the one class on Sunday, to avoid overly crowded classes so attendees will have a far better learning experience being able to see what plant life Richard is pointing to or picking and hear him better.

Survival Cache taught by Boondockery host, John Timms.

Water Filtration Systems - taught by Kentucky Preparedness Network's Josh Sutton

Wilderness First Aid and Emergency Medical - both a kid's class and one for adults - taught by Patrick Maltba

God and Government taught by the Resistance Chicks

Class Cancellation

The Knots and Pioneering Lashing Classes which were going to be taught by Daniel "Ox" Leathers have been cancelled because he will unfortunately not be able to make the trip to Ohio for the event this year.

  1. First, today is the FINAL day to order Old School Survival Boot Camp T-shirts, long sleeve T-shirts, tank shirts, V-neck ladies cut short sleeve shirts, crew neck sweatshirts, hoodies, or hats. If you want to order OSS Boot Camp 2022 gear, visit the Shop section of the Old School Survival Network - www.oldschoolsurvivalnetwork.com before midnight. Remember, the coupon code for 20 percent off gear purchases is located in the forum section for Old School Survival Network members to snag and use.

  2. There will not be another class of Knives for Kids added to the Sunday schedule. But, we will keep the names of those children on the waitlist in case someone does not show up by the start of class to claim their spot.

  3. Many of the make and take or maximum capacity classes that require registration are full or nearly so. If you want to take one of these types of courses, visit the Shop section on the Old School Survival Network ASAP.

  4. The attendee welcome packet with important details you need to know before arriving at camp: campground location and check in, parking, where local gas stations, ATM machines are located, and other such essential details, will be published one week before the event. It will be listed as a free download in the Shop section of the Old School Survival Network. The coupon code for Network members to use for 10 percent off items (except raffle tickets) at the Old School Survival Network booth will be posted in the forum section at the same time as the release of the welcome packet.

  5. One of our attendees, a veteran and retired police officer
