Old School Survival Boot Camp 2023 Dates Announced!

Old School Survival Boot Camp will be held May 12-14, 2023 at the Vinton County Fairgrounds. The Early Bird Ticket Sale (cheapest tickets that will be offered for the event) is now open. Early Bird sale will close August, 31, 2022 at midnight.

For those of you that are not Boot Camp alumni, Old School Survival Boot Camp is 3-day interactive weekend camp filled with more than 80 hands-on homesteading, bushcraft, blacksmithing, butchering, off grid living, survival, herbalism, homeschooling, self-defense, and martial arts classes presented by over 40 experts from around the country. In 2022 folks from 19 states traveled to Vinton County, Ohio for the largest prepping and homesteading event in the Midwest.

Ticket link at the bottom of this post - which is filled with all kinds of important information you need to know.

Ticket check in in 2023 will be completed by multiple folks with handheld scanners so there is not such a long line or delay getting inside - especially on Friday morning.

Although we did not have any last minute vehicle breakdowns or illnesses during the 2021 boot camp, we did in 2022. There will be plans put into place for substitute instructors covering the same or similar topic in 2023, should such an issue arise again.

The last minute schedule changes were announced this year, but not all folks were in a position to hear them. Going forward, a sign will be hung on the tent/learning area also noting any unavoidable and unfortunate schedule changes.

Number signs on event tents will be larger going forward to help make locating the class area simpler and quicker.

All instructors of make and take classes will have a copy of their roster and receipts placed in their tent or class area to make counting heads and verifying payment also simpler and quicker.

Plans are also in the works to offer several Friday afternoon through Sunday Old School Survival Boot Camp Intensive Experiences this summer and fall. These sessions will be limited to 100 to 150 max and be held at the On Guard Gun Range And Training Center located just a few miles north of the fair grounds. Classes will be 2 hours, half day, or full day small group and deeply hands-on session covering a different series of topics each time and include the ability to register for on-site firearms, archery, and Krav Maga classes. More details coming soon - keep watching www.oldschoolsurvivalbootcamp.com for updates.

Membership to the Old School Survival Network is only $4 per month and includes full access and download privileges to our growing library of ebooks, Homestead Heritage Explorers self-reliance based homeschool curriculum, online classes, and radio shows, early access to class registration, and discounts on Boot Camp gear. A new ebook and homeschool unit were added yesterday with two more online classes, radio shows, and additional homeschool units to be added this week. Visit www.oldschoolsurvivalnetwork.com to learn more .

There are a limited number of slots open for a few more volunteers that are willing to trade 2 hours of work per day in exchange for a single 3-day event pass. The shift will be at different times each day to allow the volunteer access to the full schedule of classes. Volunteers must be an adult and a Boot Camp alumni. If you are interested in being considered as a volunteer, please email oldschoolsurvivalbc@gmail.com

The Old School Survival Boot Camp 2023 will once again take place at the Vinton County Fairgrounds. Old School Survival Boot Camp event passes will not be sold at the door. Tickets must be purchased online prior to the event date.

You do not have to purchase the 3-day passes for adults or children at the same time as purchasing add-on experiences tickets, camping, or official boot camp gear through our Ticketbud event page. You may return at a later date to purchase any add-ons to the general admission tickets - while spaces are available and while gear lasts.

The Old School Survival Boot Camp is primarily an outdoor event - dress and accessorize accordingly. The 3-day survival event will go on rain or shine - including all courses that take place indoors, under event tents, or in wooded and open areas on the grounds. Activities will only be halted for lightening or similar potentially deadly weather or natural disaster emergencies.

Tickets are NON REFUNDABLE, but you can gift or sell your tickets if you find yourself unable to attend the event. Should Ohio be on any type of Covid-19 restrictions during the Old School Survival Boot Camp weekend, the event will be structured to comply with any and all restrictions. Should large outdoor gatherings be prohibited during the Old School Survival Boot Camp weekend, the event will be rescheduled and raincheck tickets issued for the new date.

Old School Survival Boot Camp Handicap Accessibility

This is an outdoor event where uneven terrain and off pavement conditions should be expected to be encountered. Rain before or during the event may make some areas difficult or impossible to traverse by wheelchair.

The road through the main event venue is a combination of gravel and dirt that is usually passable by a wheelchair, but weather conditions could alter passable conditions. All barns, buildings, and permanent restrooms are handicap accessible.

There are roughly 20 handicap parking spots in the heart of the main event venue. These will be used daily on a first come first serve basis. If an attendee alerts event staff at the front gate that all handicap accessible parking spaces are taken, a drop off to the main event building or as near as possible to an event area will be permitted.

Please contact us via email with any specific questions or concerns about handicap accessibility prior to purchasing a non-refundable ticket or during the event in the case of inclement weather that may alter accessibility conditions at the outdoor event.
